Thanks to Malcolm for being what I think we want all our players to be like. Because he has such great intangibles, it is easy to forget he has tremendous skills and talent. His quickness off the snap and athleticism are good enough to get him a strong look at the next level, but when you combine it with his work ethic, dedication, versatility and attitude, he should make somebody's team, even if he is not a high-round pick. Remember also that he was an average-rated recruit out of HS that I believe only had 1 SEC offer, yet he outperformed all but a couple of D-Linemen playing for all 12 SEC teams.
Is this the updated depth chart with the changes from Friday's dress rehearsal? This shows none of the position or depth changes made late last week (like Williams, Crim, Norton to 1st team), so unless all those moves were reversed, this may not show results of the weekend.
Along the lines of the comment by foreverhawg, I am glad that Ford is making it back on the field with a chance to play again. The fact that he is a phenomenal athlete with great skills and ability makes it of more interest to most fans, but it is great for him as this young man seems to be a genuinely good kid who works hard and does the right things. I played in an alumni golf tournament and asked how he was coming along, and one of the folks very close to the players made the following statement, which is one of the best compliments that can be given in my opinion:
"Elton Ford is the exact kind of player that you want playing for your favorite team. He is one of the best kids in our program."
