When I look at the past BB season, I see players who could play on occasion, look at the wins over Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Consistancy or ability of the coaches to motivate seemed to be the problem and those coaches are gone. If MA can hold onto present players and keep new class of recruits, I believe we will open some eyes next year and be going to the big dance. No dreams of a final four, but maybe a win or two!!! Go Razorbacks and welcome back MA.
Forget won/loss records, most of the victories have come from scheduling powder puff teams in the preseason!! Look at our play during games, do we appear to be well coached, are we able to adjust our strategy, do we seem to have a plan, are the players used correctly, why have we lost so many of the fine recruits, and on and on????
One simple question. what would happen if a football coach had the kind of record that our basketball team has had in past four years. Most of our BB victories have come from playing powder puff teams in the pre-season. Look at our SEC record for past four years!!! We paid $90,000 finders fee for this, plus over a million a year!!! Come ON!!
From a walkon at Arkansas to the Super Bowl in Dallas is quite an accomplishment. Just goes to show what extra effort and perserverance can do for an athlete who has the right attitude. Congratulations Brett!!!
I know very little about the Oregon team but if they can beat Cam Newton, they will do better than the other BCS teams who have gone down in defeat, including Arkansas. I personally feel like Cam Newton and Gus Malzawn will find a way to win!! Go SEC!!!
I would also like to compliment Larry Graham and Johnny Burnett for the day to day job the circulation department is doing. We live in Waldron, AR and still have our paper delivered by 3:30 on weekdays. I greatly appreciate the early and consistent delivery!!!!
Go Hogs---oh yes, I think you under estimate Petrino's competitive spirit in regard to our participation in a BCS bowl every year. He will have us re loaded for 2011 and now that we have assurance of his staying at Arkansas for the long term, watch out SEC!!!!
My confidence in the basketball Hogs is at a very low ebb. I really felt that Pelphrey could have had much better teams based on talent of recruiting, but it seems they lose good players faster than they can recruit new ones. No way to mature into a consistent program. Maybe we need a new coach!!
The Razorbacks had some great throws and catches, but also so many dropped throws. I couldn't tell on TV whether Mallet was pressured so much, his passes were not quite on the mark, or if the receivers were just not catching the ball. Proud of the Hogs for coming back and making a game out of it. We had chances to win, but the Hogs represented themselves and the state with a great deal of grit.
I remember the Holtz suspensions and also that the back who filled the gap ran for 205 yards against Oklahoma's defense. CJP has had some great recruiting classes but cannot seem to hold on to or develop them into a winning team. Personally, I feel we could do better for a coach, but take nothing away from his suspension of Powell.

Dialogue sidesteps Hogs job
If I remember correctly, Jeff Long tried his best to hire a football coach out of the ACC and I expect he will do the same in filling Phelphrey's job.
I personally feel like we need a younger coach who can spend some time at Arkansas and develop some stability in the program.
Does anyone know why Phelphrey has lost so many (all but three out of last two recruiting classes)players?
Maybe someone will bring a great basketball coach to Long on a platter, like they did with Petrino.
