I remember a lot of times Fortson DIDN'T pass and lost the ball to blocks from the big men inside. I wonder if team play may be the reason he's not even practicing. If he can be a team player we can use him, but... My hat's off to Pelfrey. The razorback tradition is rooted in TEAM PLAY. If we let Pel get us back to that we'll get back to the top.
It was a GREAT game, and a team effort. These guys are a nucleus to build a championship team around. Hopefully, the ones left behind last night will get their acts together and become part of it.
John, I completely disagree. If Pelfrey chose, he could ignore lack of effort (in practice, in games and in the classroom.) Our previous coach proved you don't win, graduate players or develop character that way. Enforcing discipline on a team that had gone without it for 5 years cannot be done without consistent enforcement of every rule, over time. Pelfrey's toughness may make him look bad to some in the short term, but is the only way to build a winning team of real student-athletes.
