Three football Hogs arrested, charged with burglary

I'm sorry Hog Authority but these guys are on video entering dorm rooms, which pretty much seals the deal on these charges. Just like our Coach we have to part ways with these players. This obviously, much like Coach Petrino's case is a no brainer. At the end of the day when you commit a felony, I think that ends your college football career at the University of Arkansas. I hated to see Coach Petrino go and fought myself thinking we should forgive him because he is such a great coach but at the end of the day, you have to do the right thing.

Leadership starts with Hogs’ players

I don't think people should blame Bobby Petrino in this matter. I think this is probably who these young men are, and that is thiefs. There is no one to blame but the players themselves. These are character defects that all three of these young men have. It is very upsetting especially with everything else that has taken place. Hog captains need to get this team focused on the upcoming season, we can't afford any other distractions. All three need to be gone, we can't tolerate this type of behavior.

Three football Hogs arrested, charged with burglary

This is horrible, forunately we are very deep at wide receiver, but this is a gut blow no matter how you look at it. Marquel Wade would have been a key contributor this year. Stupid is the only thing you can say. Did they actually think they wouldn't get caught at some point? All three need to go, we don't need these type of men to represent the University of Arkansas.

Forward says he’ll be a Hog

That's what we need some aggressive rebounding. Hogs still lack some height but with all the athletes, we can push teams with our tempo. Should be a fun team to watch. Go Hogs!!

Smith on Petrino: We haven’t talked

Anyone with any sense knows Bobby Petrino is an elite coach. You can bash him for his lack of judgement that put us in this situation but all Hog fans owe him a lot because HE made Arkansas a factor on the national level. Mr. Long has a big task in front of him, which is keep Arkansas football near the top. I hope that Paul Petrino becomes that man during the course of the season.

Smith introduced as Arkansas' football coach

Let's hope the Hogs can pull together this season and overcome Mr. Petrino's transgressions. I guess this is the best move possible, let's hope that the next football coach will be a frontline coach with a little more integrity than Mr. Petrino showed. Still can't believe all of this has happened.

Hiring gets mixed review from Hogs’ recruits

The problem isn't this season, Hogs are in great shape and should be one of the best teams in the country. It is going forward where the uncertainty lies. John L Smith will not be the long term selection for Arkansas. No way is that possible, Hogs will free fall if that is the case. Recruits want to know what type of system they are going to play in, and that is the crux of the problem. Potential recruits do not have a clue as to what comes next at Arkansas. How could a great player trying to make it to the next level hang his hat on that type of uncertainty. I think this was a bad decision on Mr. Long's part, he should have hired one of the current assistants, then recruits would think with a great year that coach would be the permanent one. Erasing the uncertainty.

Arkansas hires Smith as head coach

He obviously won't be the head coach after this season. So we can all rest assured that this is not Mr. Long's best. The problem is that next year's recruiting class is going to suffer big time because there is just too much uncertainty with the Razorback program. That's the problem when you punt like Mr. Long did today. He should have named one of the current assistants the interim. Then at least if we do well again BCS or we can only dream national title. Then the recruits would believe most definitely that the interim would become permanent. Now we know John L Smith won't become the permanent head coach, which leaves athletes guessing as to who and what type of offense will be put in place. In my book not a good situation.

Pressed, Dorrell explains gift, car

People do dumb things that don't make sense in retrospect all of the time and there is no one that posts here that hasn't made a bad decision in their life at some point. We just have to ask for forgiveness from God and don't do it again.

Long: Coaching search ongoing

No three yards and a cloud of dust coaches. Your job depends upon it.
