rmmr, i can tell you why they are gambling. It is the entitlement mentality that is sweeping our country along with the fact that NOBODY wants to be held accountable for their wrongdoings. Add to that players who are treated like Gods who see the NFL, NBA, etc., dominated by a bunch of thugs, it's not hard to see why some of this stuff is happening.

Yeah, Diversity, I'm a racist. Tell that to the people at the Union Mission in Memphis (newsflash, most of them are black) or the kids I have coached (whoa, another newsflash, most of them were black) or the people I delivered food, clothes and toys to at Christmas (oh my, more black people!) and if they think I am a racist, I will concede to your own bigoted theory. And as far as who should be hired, let's try a very novel approach. Hire the most qualified; a concept that goes against the grain of EVERYONE like you.

Let me offer this bit of advice regarding our friend "Diversity." I live in the most racially divided city in this country...Memphis. THE problem with this city is that is loaded with people just like "Diversity." They have held this city back for years, continue to stir the race pot and, most of the time, do it for their own gain. I for one am not going to dignify anymore of his racism and ignorance with an answer and I would encourage all of you who feel the same way I do to do the same. We have a black, female, racist columnist here in the local paper; Wendi Thomas. EVERY article she writes is a racism-laden article that evokes more hatred and tension among the races and she does it for one reason and that is because SHE benefits from it. I chose a long time ago to stop by subscription to the commercial appeal and will not renew it until she is gone "and" I for one, stopped responding to her bigoted articles a long time ago. I would encourage all of us who have the best interest of the university, the players, the program and our state to do the same and stop devoting any time or space to this bigot.

Whay don't we just make it a rule that only "people of color" can attend the UofA, play football, write sports columns, buy tickets and donate money to the program? You have real issues and, at teh risk of lowering myself to your level, I withhold the name I have in mind for you. However, I suspect that the only difference between you and David Duke is the color of your skin.

UA pursues more Memphis prospects

Love the news on Memphis recruits. The locals are shaking in their boots when they hear that CMA or TJ are after someone in Memphis and Tim Horton is right on target with his interest in Memphis. This city is loaded with talent in both sports. BTW, I haven't seen anything on this site about the NCAA's interest in John the weasel Calipari and possible recruiting infractions. We all knew that it was just a matter of time.
