who the hell is crying, i'd be crying if he had stayed! and look at the records, about the same. if they weren't contenders with him off the roster, how were they with him when the records are practically the same. your reasoning doesn't add up. bet the nba snub their noses at him also.
since when has arkansas been a 'contender" with fortson. are you kidding me? Fortson was bad for team chemistry, hell team anything. i for one am glad he's gone. have said all along he was nothing but another kareem reid, (hope i have that right, our former point that always played out of control and would rather shot than pass to open player), and we came remember how many games we gone with him. college teams HAVE to have a point guard that distributes the ball, and that isn't fortson. hogs will be much better at half-court offense next year without him. doubt very seriously we'll be hearing anything out of him again. doesn't have the talent or the basketball knowledge to play in the pros.
let him go, i believe the "team" will be better without him. as others have pointed out, fortson's not a team player. worried more about his own stats than winning games. good riddance!
hope this is just a rumor. glad to hear pelphrey was in hot springs, he needs to keep westside's nickleson, ty madden, and the other young man from little rock in the state and get them to arkansas.
i agree jo99. the once proud and feared arkansas program now is mentioned as "bad loss" on tourney resume. very sad and embarrassing. i stand behind pelphrey for now, i beleive every coach should have five years to get "his" program up and going. that being said i would really like to see him take control on the court as he did off the court this year. if the point gaurd wants to play out of control "street ball", BENCH HIM! a lot of times this year alot of the players seemed like they were not "in" the game. but i ask myself if i would continue to work to get open down low if i knew i more than likely wouldnt get the pass if i did get open. hope to see less of fortson and more of nobles next year. Powell's only going to get better, feed him next year, get him going, open things up for clarke outside. But it all start's with a point guard that would rather pass than take a shot. GO HOGS!
fortson doesn't know the meaning of "team". i'm so tired of hearing the announcers speak so highly of him, he's selfish, turnover prone, and makes very poor decisions, as in last nights "three" attempt with a couple minutes left. am i the only one who thinks knobles is the way to go at the guard position? what a display of quick hands, great defense, AND he passes the ball.
