3 Hogs suspended after theft charges

oink,

I can visualize what you are saying. I came to the Liberty Bowl in 2010. The chill of that night was nothing compared to the chill I felt within the neighborhood leading to the stadium. Oh my gosh has it gone downhill...sad. Fortunately, you guys still have some of the best ribs for dinner (The Rendevous), the Peabody and are home to the farm club of my favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals

3 Hogs suspended after theft charges

Diversity,

You've brought these reactions on yourself. Guys like Keith Jackson and Quinn Grovey would be embarrassed to read your posts since one provides color commentary in the broadcast booth for ARSN during all Hog football games and the other is the on-field reporter...both black. Oh, and by the way, BOTH NEVER had a brush with the law when they played for Oklahoma and Arkansas respectively.

The only thing these three individuals are entitled to is revocation of their scholarships and expulsion from the University of Arkansas. Something tells me that "Mr. Smooth" will see to that. Color has nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile, you are in dire need of some useful reading material. I suggest picking up a copy of "Too Black, when your color gets in the way" by Andre' Leon Edwards.

Three football Hogs arrested, charged with burglary

John L. needs to set an example. They get kicked off the team and scholarships revoked...period.

Three football Hogs arrested, charged with burglary

I am utterly confounded at this. What motivates somebody to do this? A dare? You're on scholarship. You've got all the support you need to succeed both athletically and academically and yet you pull a stunt like this? Did they really think that they wouldn't get caught? You just have to wonder why they thought the risk was miniscule and what was at stake didn't matter.

Arkansas settles LSU, A&M games

Honest Abe,

Most of the time, I like you posts and oftentimes find myself agreeing fully with what you say. But this time, I have to take you to task. A coach's job IS NOT to be a player's friend. He's not your "buddy." He shouldn't have to be concerned about hurting feelings or egos. I frankly think the current generation needs a swift kick in the a--. They think they are entitled to everything and don't feel they have to work to get it...bullsh--.

I hope our next permanent coach drives the team hard and expects perfection. Would you rather go back to the wishy-washy, huckster type personality like Houston Nutt? Do you think people like Bear Bryant, Ara Parsegian and Darrel Royal found success by throwing wine and cheese parties for the kids? Would you dispute the DISTINCT difference in conditioning of our players now compared to the Nutt era? I'm not defending what all Bobby Petrino did in his private time. But as for how he taught and expected play execution, we should settle for NOTHING LESS than that in the new, permanent coach.

It worked and you cannot dispute that.

A hog-wild 4th round

04,

Franklin may have similar fortune to Tony Dungy. When Tony graduated college and entered the draft, nobody picked him. Later, he got on with a team. That team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a player and coach, Tony has rings.

A hog-wild 4th round

These guys were simply awesome. Childs will have his better days ahead. Thanks for the memories and good luck in the NFL.

Players scheme to avoid changes

Hey Diversity,

Did you take a spelling class in school? Its sense, not since. And, since you did not name the two sports announcers, let me help you... Keith Jackson and Quinn Grovey.

UA spring game provides encouragement

We've had terrific seasons even with a loss to Alabama. That's not going to change this fall although I think Arkansas has one of its best chances of beating Alabama.

What I do believe, however, is that you do not hang your program's future on a 63 year old coach. This will be John L's ONE AND ONLY season as head coach, regardless of how well he does. There will simply be way too much talent lining up to be the new, permanent head coach at the end of next season. Jeff Long will get his man.

Here's a hint: One played for Oklahoma. The other played QB for Arkansas. Got it yet??
