FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas senior Sonny Weems might have been hoping for more, but he was still happy to learn Tuesday he had been named to the All-SEC first team.
"Actually, I was leaning on the player of the year," a smiling Weems said.
That honor went to Vanderbilt senior swingman Shan Foster, but it didn't diminish Weems' accomplishment. He was the only Arkansas player named to the first or second team, and senior center Steven Hill was the only other Razorback honored by the conference, earning a spot on the all-defensive team.
Weems said he felt fortunate to receive such an honor but was more focused on getting the Razorbacks (20-10) into the NCAA Tournament.
