Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Sophomore linebacker Justin Hilliard high on Arkansas after visit.

Sophomore linebacker Justin Hilliard, 6-2, 220, 4.67 seconds on the 40 yard dash, of Cincinnati St. Xavier high school said he had a very good visit to Arkansas on Wednesday and Thursday. He was the lone visitor that day and got a lot of 1-on-1 attention from the coaching staff. He spent time with cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson, his lead recruiter and linebacker coach Randy Shannon, who likes Hilliard at the middle spot.

He met with Coach Bret Bielema for about an hour.

Hilliard's father was also impressed. He said the family knows Johnson's wife because she's from Dayton and Hilliard's mother is from Dayton.

The Hogs didn't offer him during the trip but was told an offer would come at some point. He said the Razorbacks are at the top of his list and an offer would only help that standing.

Hilliard has scholarship offers from Indiana and Iowa but after talking to Ohio State on Sunday night he believes they're close to offering.

North Little Rock running back Juan Day's 126.60 SPARQ rating from Sunday's Nike Camp is the 2nd highest score at his position this year. He plans to attend the Nike Camp in Memphis this weekend and win the MVP award for running backs and get an invite to The Opening.

Running back Vic Enwere of Missouri City, (Texas) Fort Bend Austin said he's been talking to running back coach Joel Thomas and there's a chance you might visit in the near future. He has nine offers but is awaiting on one from Arkansas.

St. Louis University High School cornerback Raymond Wingo, who has about 10 offers, including Arkansas, said it was about 60-65 degrees on Saturday when he recorded the 10.64 laser time in the 100 meters. The meet was only the second one for Wingo and his school this spring. The 10.64 tied the meet record set by the late Damien Nash, who played for Missouri and in the NFL.

Michigan State offered him on Tuesday.

2015 quarterback Ross Trail, 6-2, 203 of Olive Branch, Miss. received praise from former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfar at the Dallas Elite 11 on Saturday. Trail played his sophomore season at Wynne.

Trail plans to attend camps at Arkansas, Louisville, Ole Miss, Auburn and Arkansas State. He visited the Tigers for a junior day two weeks ago.
