Friday recruiting tidbits

Jalen Merrick has become one of the more highly recruited offensive line prospects in the nation with only two seasons under his belt.

Arkansas defensive line commitment Hjalte Froholdt arrived this morning for his official visit. He's expected to leave about noon on Sunday.

Froholdt, 6-5, 290 of Bradenton, (Fla.) IMG Academy finished the season with 55 tackles, 10 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles and 7 quarterback hurries. He'll enroll at Arkansas in January.

Offensive lineman Jalen Merrick, 6-5, 310 pounds, 5.21 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. arrived late Thursday night and started his official visit today.

The Hogs will likely host about 50 to 60 prospects for unofficial visits for the Ole Miss game.

Poyen offensive lineman Daniel Goodman, 6-7, 306 pounds has told Arkansas he plans to walk on for the 2015 season. He recorded 33 pancake blocks and 41 knockdowns while not giving up a sack this season.

Defensively, he had 61 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. Video highlights CLICK HERE

LaFayette County junior running back Tre Burks finished the season with 188 carries for 1,859 yards and 26 touchdowns. He has an offer from Missouri State. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Cornerback Nate Dalton, 6-3, 195, 4.50 of Houston Cypress Falls received an offer from Oklahoma on Thursday. As reported on Wednesday, the Hogs are showing strong interest and could extended an offer in the near future. He had 11 offers from other schools like Utah, Kentucky and SMU.

Junior athlete Allie Freeman Jr. of Episcopal Collegiate ranks 16th nationally in receiving yardage with 1,596 yards on 77 receptions. He's drawing interest from Arkansas, Clemson, Missouri, Nebraska and others. Video highlights CLICK HERE
