After loading the bases with two outs in the first, Arkansas starter James Teague settled in and retired 10 straight batters. The stretch included a career-high five strikeouts.

However, Missouri State got to him in the fifth, as the Bears' first three batters reached base, forcing Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn to bring in Keaton McKinney.

The Bears used a sacrifice fly by Dylan Becker, a fielding error by McKinney and a bases loaded walk to take a 2-0 lead.

Arkansas' best chance to break up the shutout came in the sixth, when it loaded the bases with one out. A strikeout by Rick Nomura and a ground out by Carson Shaddy ended the threat, though.

The next seven Razorbacks went down in order, but Clark Eagan's pinch-hit single and Tyler Spoon's double put the tying runs in scoring position. Arkansas came up empty again, as Nomura struck out for the second time.

The loss snapped Arkansas' 10-game winning streak against the Bears, which started in 2007. While the Razorbacks have owned the series, seven of the 10 games were decided by three or fewer runs.

Tuesday's game is Arkansas' only midweek game this week. The Razorbacks travel to Auburn for a three-game series beginning Friday.
