Chandler Morris leads Highland Park to state championship

Chandler Morris led Highland Park to a third consecutive 5A Division 1 state championship on Saturday in Arlington, Texas.

Morris, the son of Arkansas coach Chad Morris, was named the game's offensive MVP after he completed 23 of 35 passes for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns, and was intercepted once in the Scots' 27-17 win over Shadow Creek at AT&T Stadium. Morris had a fourth touchdown pass overturned on a replay review.

Morris finished his first season as a starting quarterback with a 16-0 record. He passed for 4,055 yards and 46 touchdown passes, and was intercepted six times in 411 pass attempts.

Morris, a junior, has been offered by Arkansas, Clemson, Auburn, Oklahoma and others.
