Igbokwe 5th at USATF Championships

Arkansas' Obi Igbokwe competes in the 4x400-meter relay Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, during the Tyson Invitational in the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.

Obi Igbokwe of Arkansas finished fifth in the 400-meter dash at the USATF Championships on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Igbokwe finished with a time of 45.23 seconds in the event.

Kenzo Cotton advanced to the semifinals in the 200 in 20.72 seconds which was was third in his heat, advancing him to the semifinals.

Also participating were former Razorbacks Marqueze Washington and Jarrion Lawson, who ran in the first heat and finished with times of 20.85 and 21.72, but failed to finish in the top three. However, Washington’s time was good enough to advance to the semifinals.

Former Arkansas pole vaulter Andrew Irwin finished fifth by clearing 18 feet, 8 1/4-inches.

On the women’s side, Nikki Hiltz closed out her Arkansas career by finishing ninth in the 1,500 in 4:15.03. Taliyah Brooks finished ninth in the 100 hurdles in 13.07 seconds.
