Horton reportedly demoted at Auburn

Tim Horton spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Arkansas.

Tim Horton, a former University of Arkansas football player and assistant coach, is being replaced as Auburn’s running backs coach, multiple media outlets in Alabama reported Saturday.

Horton, who has been an Auburn assistant coach since 2013, will be reassigned to a role off the field on the football staff, according to the reports.

Horton was a team captain as a receiver and punt returner at Arkansas after starring at Conway. He played on the Razorbacks’ Southwest Conference championship teams in 1988 and 1989.

He was Arkansas’ running backs coach from 2007-2012 and also was the recruiting coordinator.
