Bell will Toll for Hazen star sooner than later

Blayne Toll

— By the time Hazen takes the field on August 30 for its 2019 season opener at Cross County, the Hornets’ star should have a decision made on where he will play his college football.

Toll (6-6, 242), a defensive end prospect and arguably the state’s top 2020 player, took his official visit to Arkansas the past few days.

He is a mid-term graduate and will arrive at his college of choice next Jan,

“It's a real good program,” Toll said. “A lot of people helped me while I was on my official visit. (Arkansas director of recruiting) Josh (Thompson) gave me rides everywhere. It was a very good experience. There's just real good people up here.”

Toll has spent many days in Fayetteville on unofficial visits.

“It was good,” Toll said. “I saw quite a few of the things I have already seen. It was nice to do all that with the coaches the past couple of days. It was nice.”

Toll’s brother lives in Fayetteville and is around to serve, protect and offer his brother advice.

“He’s a cop,” Toll said. “It would be good to have somebody I knew in the city I went to.”

Toll has one other official visit set up to Tennessee next weekend, but doesn’t think he will use all five of his official visits.

“Then that's about it," he said. "I don't think so. I will just have to see.”

Oklahoma has been perceived as the leader by some, but he does not have an official planned there before making his decision.

“No, I will have to wait until the season comes or something,” Toll said.

Toll joined two Razorback commits - Houston (Texas) North Shore tailback John Gentry (5-10, 190) and Austin (Texas) Westlake wide receiver Mason Mangum (5-11, 171) - as prospects on official visits to Arkansas.

The pair urged Toll to go ahead and commit to Arkansas.

“They worked on me a little bit, but I've still got a couple of weeks,” he said.

Oklahoma and Tennessee are both trying to keep him from being a Razorback.

“They both talked about seeing early playing time,” Toll said. “Oklahoma is a winning program and Tennessee is just something different. We'll have to see.”
