NOTABLE Friday is the SEC opener for both teams. Arkansas was predicted by league coaches to finish third in the SEC West; Missouri was predicted to finish last place in the SEC East….This weekend is Missouri’s second trip to the state of Arkansas this season. The Tigers went 1-1 at an event in Conway earlier this month, with a win over Central Arkansas and a loss to South Dakota State….Missouri changed its weekend rotation for the Arkansas series by moving normal Friday starter TJ Sikkema to Saturday and starting Jacob Cantleberry on Friday. Cantleberry and Arkansas utility player Matt Goodheart were teammates last season at San Jacinto Junior College in Texas….Arkansas is 12-1 at home this season. The Razorbacks enter the series looking for their 14th consecutive weekend series win at Baum-Walker Stadium….Missouri coach Steve Bieser was formerly the head coach at Southeast Missouri State, where he coached Arkansas first baseman Trevor Ezell for two seasons. Arkansas has recorded at least 10 strikeouts in nine of its past 10 games….Missouri outfielder Thomas Broyles is the grandson of the late Frank Broyles, who was Arkansas’ athletics director for 34 years and football coach for 19 seasons. Thomas Broyles transferred to Missouri after starting 49 games at Northwest Florida State College last season. He has started three times and played in eight games this season and is batting .214….Two changes will take place with the start of SEC play. Centralized replay will be utilized, allowing officials at the conference office in Birmingham, Ala., to confer with umpires at the stadium.
