Arkansas has received a commitment from Iowa grad transfer guard Isaiah Moss, who visited the Razorbacks over the weekend.

Moss (6-5, 208 pounds) started 96 of 102 games for the Hawkeyes after redshirting his first year. He averaged 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in three years while shooting 41 percent from the field and 39 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

He reportedly visited Kansas after his trip to Fayetteville. Arkansas coach Eric Musselman and staff worked hard to get him to visit Fayetteville after announcing his plans to transfer May 2.

“They were one of the first schools to reach out when I put my name in the portal,” Moss said. “They’ve been very consistent. They’re showing how much they can use me and how much they want me to come there. That stood out to me.”

He averaged 11.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists as a sophomore, shooting 52 percent from the field and 39 percent from distance.

Moss, who played at Simeon High School in Chicago, played for Mac Irvin Fire in the spring and summer before signing with Iowa over scholarship offers from DePaul, Auburn, SMU, East Carolina and others.

Mac Irvin Fire chief executive officer Mike Irvin said Moss was somewhat of a late bloomer.

“He came on late his junior and senior year,” Irvin said. “Once he came on as far as his athletic ability and ball-playing skills he was kind of late to hit the circuit. He’s always been an athletic kid that could shoot the ball, can run the floor, play defense. With him, it wasn’t a question…if he keeps working hard, he can make some money at this game.”

Musselman’s extensive NBA background attracted Moss to Arkansas.

“Ultimately that’s my goal, to end up at the next level,” Moss said. “I know he has connections and he knows what it takes to get there.”

Irvin said Moss has a great personality and work ethic.

“He’s a great kid, hard worker,” Irvin said. “One thing about him, he stayed in the gym. He’s going to continue to get better because he stays in the gym. His teammates loved him.”

Moss, who's expected to be immediately eligible for next season, joins forwards Jeantal Cylla and Connor Vanover as spring additions to the Razorbacks’ 2019 class
