Georgia Tech point guard Jose Alvarado will not play against Arkansas on Monday, according to a report.
CBS Sports college basketball reporter Jon Rothstein, citing Yellow Jackets coach Josh Pastner, tweeted Alvarado will miss the game as he continues to battle an ankle injury. The junior did not play in Georgia Tech's win over Elon.
Alvarado played injured, according to Pastner, against rival Georgia in an 82-78 road loss on Nov. 20 and finished with two points on 1 of 6 shooting in 16 minutes.
In two games played this season, Alvarado is averaging six points and shooting 29.4 percent from the floor.
Georgia Tech has scored .95 points per possession in 155 possessions in which Alvarado has sat this season versus .86 when he is in the lineup, according to HoopLens. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets are allowing .73 PPP when he is not on the floor.
