— Arkansas has a top 10 soccer team for the first time.

The Razorbacks jumped five spots to No. 8 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches poll that was released Tuesday. Arkansas’ previous high ranking was No. 11 in 2016.

Arkansas also is ranked No. 6 in this week’s NCAA RPI.

The Razorbacks (11-2-1, 5-1-0 SEC) are coming off a week in which they outscored their opponents, LSU and Mississippi State, by a combined 10-1. Arkansas enters its Friday game at No. 18 Texas A&M on a three-game win streak and a winner in 10 of its past 11 games.

Also Tuesday, Arkansas freshman Anna Podojil was named the soccer coaches’ national player of the week for the second time in less than a month. Podojil scored four goals last week, including three in Sunday’s 6-1 victory over Mississippi State when she also had one assist.

Podojil has 10 goals and has scored 26 points this season, which are both tied for the SEC lead. In conference games only she has scored a league-high seven goals.

Podojil was named the SEC’s offensive player of the week Monday.
