How we see it: Arkansas-Auburn predictions

Arkansas coach Chad Morris watches warmups prior to a game against Auburn on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in Auburn, Ala.

Losing the lead in the fourth quarter is old news for the Razorbacks, but having it done to them by a quarterback converted from wide receiver is a new twist. Frankly, it’s that part that’s tough to swallow. It may be tough to respond against a solid Auburn team. Auburn, 38-17

Matt Jones, Whole Hog Sports

Auburn will have the best line play Arkansas has seen on either side of the ball this year. Plus, the Tigers will be rested and out to prove a point after stewing over a loss for two weeks. Auburn, 41-14

Harry King, Hawgs Illustrated

Gus Malzahn will make certain that quarterback Bo Nix will have multiple opportunities to challenge Arkansas’ ability to contain. And, a quarterback controversy in Fayetteville doesn’t help. Auburn, 38-20

Scottie Bordelon, Whole Hog Sports

I’m not sure it matters much that Auburn’s leading rusher, Boobee Whitlow, will not play against Arkansas. The Tigers, led by freshman quarterback Bo Nix, have plenty of other playmakers who can and will get the job done. The Razorbacks are a fragile bunch. Chad Morris said so himself. Auburn, 42-14

Tye Richardson, Half Time

The loss in Lexington hurts from an emotional standpoint. I think Auburn will have a physical toll on these Hogs, unfortunately. Auburn, 52-17

Dudley E. Dawson, Hawgs Illustrated

Arkansas lost a football game it should have won at Kentucky. Moments afterward, it then lost arguably its best recruit in Carthage, Texas, offensive lineman Ty’Kieast Crawford. Here comes Auburn and Alabama. Batten down the hatches. Auburn, 42-21

Bart Pohlman, The Hog Pod

It’s hard to see the Hogs being competitive with an Auburn team coming off a bye week. The losses are piling up for these players, and they need a breakthrough. But the Tigers are just too good. Auburn, 38-13

Tommy Craft, The Morning Rush

Auburn is coming to Fayetteville off a loss and a bye week. Once again, the Hogs’ opponent is much better at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. It’s hard to see this game being close in the fourth quarter. Auburn, 54-17

Alyssa Orange, Pig Trail Nation

Whew. This is going to be an ugly stretch of the season for Arkansas, starting with Auburn. I was disappointed to see a team which didn’t show progress, but took a step back after the bye week. Consistency is something the Hogs don’t have right now. Auburn, 48-10

John Nabors, The Morning Rush

Hogs go up against a Tiger team that’s coming off a tough loss and a bye week. Auburn makes short work of the home team. The Hogs lose their 15th straight SEC game. Auburn, 52-20

Chip Souza, NWA Democrat-Gazette

Gus Malzahn and Chad Morris are friends, so Gus likely won’t “Gussy-Up” the score. That will be the only bright spot this weekend. Hogs have lost last two games by a combined 8 points. Auburn will be well above that margin. Auburn 52-21
