— Arkansas landed one of its most highly ranked recruits in recent years when former North Little Rock and Montverde (Fla.) Academy star Moses Moody (6-6, 200) signed his national letter of intent with the Razorbacks on Friday.

Moody, a 4-star prospect and the nation’s 39th-best prospect by ESPN, chose Arkansas and head coach Eriic Musselman over Michigan, Virginia, Kansas and other programs.

Moody is coming off a senior season at Montverde (25-0), the nation’s No. 1 ranked program, in which he averaged 11.6 points while shooting 60.1 percent from the floor, 46.9 percent from 3-point range and 82.1 percent at the free throw line.

“Moses is such a complete player and fits our stylistic play so well with his versatility,” Musselman said. “He has the ability to score inside, off the bounce and from deep 3-point range. He can create shots for himself as well as create open shots for his teammates. He is an excellent rebounder for his position. He is a very good defender with his length and can guard a point guard, an off guard or a small forward.

"Moses has great maturity for an incoming freshman. It's not often you can look at a freshman and feel like he has leadership qualities. He is an incredible teammate who is incredibly unselfish.”

Moody is part of an Arkansas recruiting class ranked No.6 nationally, according to ESPN.

The other members of that class include Jacksonville point guard Davonte Davis (6-4, 175), who signed in November, former Bryant and Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy point guard Khalen “KK” Robinson (6-1, 180) and Fort Smith Northside forward Jaylin Williams (6-10, 230).

Robinson is set to sign on Monday while the other three have already signed.
