Bailey 'should be ready to go' at LSU

Adrio Bailey dunks the ball against Valparaiso on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas senior forward Adrio Bailey should be ready to play Wednesday at LSU, Razorbacks coach Eric Musselman said Tuesday.

Bailey, averaging 6.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season, injured his left knee early in the second half of Arkansas' win over Texas A&M on Saturday after attempting to take a charge on Aggies forward Josh Nebo. He was helped off the floor by team personnel.

Bailey received treatment from team trainer Mark O'Neal and checked back into the lineup for three minutes, 45 seconds before picking up his fourth foul. He did not return to the game.

"Yeah, I think he’s fine," Musselman said. "Obviously we’re aware of him banging knees and want him not to take as many reps (in practice)."

Wednesday could be the final time Bailey, a Louisiana native, plays in his home state. He averages 3.5 points and two rebounds per game against LSU for his career.

"I think any time you go play back home, so to speak, you always get a little bit more fired up," Musselman said. "There’s always more family members, friends, and then there’s the pride factor. I don’t think that ever goes away.

"But bottom line is for anybody, you’ve got to put all that stuff aside when you’re starting to get ready for a game from a mental standpoint."
