UA women look to rebound vs. Florida

Arkansas coach Mike Neighbors yells to his players during a game against Georgia on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas will look to bounce back from its worst offensive performance of the season in the 64-55 loss to Georgia. The Razorbacks’ lowest output before that was 68 in a win over Wisconsin in the Bahamas in late November.

Georgia forced No. 21 Arkansas — one of the best teams in the country at taking care of the basketball — into a season-high 20 turnovers. The Bulldogs also limited the Razorbacks, who are also one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the country to a season-low three makes from beyond the arc. Arkansas averages making 10 3-pointers per game.

Florida won’t try to control the pace like Georgia and might take more 3-point shots than the Razorbacks, Arkansas coach Mike Neighbors said.

“They do have an inside presence that causes you to pause a little bit,” Neighbors said. “They can play inside the arc. But they will be equally as athletic as Georgia on the perimeter. They will make it equally hard for us to get threes. I do think it will be a higher possession game, which can hopefully favor us a little bit.”

Redshirt freshman Erynn Barnum tied a season-high and led Arkansas with 14 points off the bench against Georgia. Chelsea Dungee added 13 but had only one field goal in the second half.

Arkansas won last year in Gainesville, 83-73, which snapped a five-game losing streak against the Gators.

The Gators have been off since losing 69-42 at Texas A&M last Sunday.
