Sills named to preseason All-SEC second team

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas guard Desi Sills has been named to the preseason All-SEC second team by the league’s coaches, it was announced Thursday.

Sills, a junior from Jonesboro, is one of nine players who received second-team honors.

As a sophomore, Sills averaged 10.6 points per game and started 24 of Arkansas’ 32 games. He finished the 2019-20 season as a 32.9% 3-point shooter despite beginning the year 2 for 30 beyond the arc in seven games in November.

In conference play, he shot 35.1% from distance, and 45.1% in the Razorbacks’ final 12 games.

Following the departures of Mason Jones, Isaiah Joe and Jimmy Whitt, Sills is Arkansas’ leading returning scorer.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to open the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, Nov. 25 against Mississippi Valley State in Bud Walton Arena.
