FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas men’s basketball team will host an in-state school in December, it was announced Thursday.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to host the University of Central Arkansas in Bud Walton Arena on Dec. 12, marking the first meeting between the schools since the 1946-47 season.

Arkansas is 6-0 all-time against UCA, including 3-0 in games played in Fayetteville.

The Bears finished the 2019-20 season at 10-21 overall and 9-11 in Southland Conference play. Anthony Boone, who played college basketball at Ole Miss and spent the previous six seasons as UCA’s associate head coach, took over as the team’s interim head coach in December.

He became head coach of the Bears at the conclusion of the season.

UCA is the second known nonconference opponent on Arkansas’ revised 2020-21 schedule. On Wednesday, it was announced that the Razorbacks will travel to Oklahoma State on Jan. 30, 2021 as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
