Report: 2 games, including 2020-21 season opener, set for UA basketball

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ first two games of the 2020-21 season are set, according to a report.

Matt Norlander, a college basketball reporter for CBS Sports, tweeted Friday evening that the Razorbacks will host Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 25, the official start date of the season, and North Texas on Nov. 28 as part of a three-team event.

The games would be the third and fourth finalized contests on Arkansas’ schedule. The Razorbacks will also host Central Arkansas on Dec. 12 and travel to Oklahoma State on Jan. 30, 2021 for the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

Arkansas is 15-0 all-time against North Texas. The Razorbacks defeated the Mean Green 66-43 in Bud Walton Arena in the second game of the Eric Musselman era.

North Texas finished last season 20-11 overall and 14-4 in Conference USA action.

Arkansas holds a 5-0 mark against Mississippi Valley State. The Delta Devils won four games last season and went 3-15 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

Mississippi Valley State was ranked 351st out of 353 Division I teams on college basketball analytics website KenPom.com following the 2019-20 season.
