FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas lost votes and remained unranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll Tuesday despite defeating ranked BYU 2-0 on Monday night in the Razorbacks’ only game of the past week.

Arkansas received 23 votes in the poll one week after receiving 41 votes. The Razorbacks' votes are 34th most nationally this week.

BYU (2-2), which defeated then-No. 14 Southern Cal 2-1 last Thursday, moved up 10 places to No. 14 in this week’s poll.

Jonas Worth, the communications officer for United Soccer Coaches, said in an email that votes are due early each Tuesday morning. The poll includes 34 voters.

Arkansas (1-2) has lost votes in the poll for two consecutive weeks after entering the season ranked No. 13.

The Razorbacks fell out of the poll following a 3-1 loss at then-No. 6 Duke and a 1-0 overtime loss at then-No. 3 North Carolina during the opening week of the season.

North Carolina is ranked second and Duke is ranked fifth this week. Both teams are undefeated.

Arkansas’ Anna Podojil scored twice — in the fourth and 54th minutes — and goalkeeper Hannah Warner had five saves in Monday’s win over BYU in front of 2,370 at Razorback Field.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to play at home again Sunday at noon against Stephen F. Austin.
