FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas guard Marquesha Davis confirmed in a text message Sunday afternoon that she will enter the transfer portal.

Davis, a 6-0 junior, was not on the bench for Sunday’s 84-67 Arkansas victory over California at Walton Arena and did not play in the Razorbacks’ loss at Central Florida on Thursday. She scored 10 points and had three steals in Arkansas’ 94-71 win at Arkansas State and added 11 points in the 114-55 exhibition win over the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.

The Springdale High graduate played in seven games this season and started one, averaging 12 minutes per game. She also averaged 5.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. Davis also averaged 12 minutes a game off the bench last year, playing in 26 of 28 games and averaging 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Davis averaged a 7A-West Conference-best 21 points and 10.2 rebounds per game for a 20-10 team as a junior.

She moved to Springdale from McGehee as an eighth grader. She scored more than 1,000 points as a Lady Bulldog and established school records for points and rebounds in a season.
