FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football is losing a vital piece to its special teams success in 2021.

Vito Calvaruso, who held kickoff duties for the Razorbacks throughout the regular season, announced Tuesday he will enter the NCAA transfer portal in a post to his Twitter account.

“Thank you to the University of Arkansas for everything over the past two years,” he wrote. “After careful consideration with my family, I believe it is best for me to enter the Transfer Portal. I have three years of eligibility remaining.”

Calvaruso this season recorded the No. 1 kickoff grade in college football, according to Pro Football Focus. Of his 74 kickoffs, 63 were touchbacks and none went out of bounds.

“Probably the biggest leg I’ve ever seen on a younger player,” Arkansas long snapper Jordan Silver tweeted. “Whatever university he commits to is getting a major weapon.”
