Tre Williams accepts NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Invite

Arkansas defensive lineman Tre Williams puts pressure on Georgia Southern quarterback Justin Tomlin at Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.

Former Arkansas defensive end Tre Williams has accepted an invitation to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 22.

He is the fourth Razorback to be invited to the game, along with linebackers Grant Morgan and Bumper Pool, and offensive lineman Myron Cunningham. Former NFL head coaches Jeff Fisher and Marvin Lewis will oversee the squads during the competition.

After transferring from Missouri to reunite with his former head coach Barry Odom, Williams paced the Hogs with a career-high six sacks and 28 tackles this season.

Williams’ Razorback career ended last Sunday when he opted out of the Outback Bowl against Penn State.

His decision to not play in the bowl game came just hours after it was announced he had been arrested in connection with driving while intoxicated in the early hours of Sunday morning.
