Arkansas soccer opener delayed again

— Arkansas' spring soccer opener against Missouri State has been pushed for a second time.

The Razorbacks are now scheduled to host the Bears on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Razorback Field. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday, then delayed until Monday due to field conditions that were worsened by last week's winter storm.

Arkansas (9-2) has not played since a loss to Vanderbilt in the championship game of the SEC Tournament on Nov. 22. Missouri State (1-2-1) has had two games canceled during the spring semester and has not played since Nov. 1.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to play six games over the next eight weeks. Arkansas enters the spring ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and is considered a strong candidate to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, which begins in late April.

The tournament was moved from its traditional dates in November and December because several college teams did not play soccer during the fall semester.
