Hayden Henry returning for Razorbacks in 2021

Arkansas linebacker Hayden Henry tackles Western Kentucky running back Gaej Walker during a game Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas linebacker Hayden Henry announced Tuesday that he will return for an additional season with the Razorbacks.

A senior from Little Rock, Henry will take advantage of an NCAA exception that allows players in 2020 an extra year of eligibility. He is the 10th Razorback senior to announce plans to come back in 2021 and the third linebacker, joining Grant Morgan and Deon Edwards.

Last season, Henry finished with 25 tackles in 10 games, including three for lost yardage and a sack. He played his best football in the first four weeks of the season, totaling four tackles against Auburn and matching a career-high with eight in the win over Ole Miss as linebacker Bumper Pool was out with an injury.

Henry had a team-high six unassisted tackles against the Rebels and was credited with a pass breakup in the second quarter.

“He played really well,” Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said on Oct. 22. “He's kind of a throwback a little bit. He's kind of a wild-eyed, kind of a crazy kid — in a good way. He's going to hit you and he's going to tell me about it.”

In his Razorbacks career, Henry has made 83 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and he forced a fumble against Colorado State in 2019 that led to an Arkansas touchdown.
