FAYETTEVILLE — The college baseball season may be over, but summer baseball is just getting started.

Arkansas has players from coast to coast this summer, from the Cape Cod League in Massachusetts to the California Collegiate League.

The Razorbacks have 29 players from the 2021 roster who were selected for rosters in seven different leagues, most of which use wood bats. Not all players will play this summer, mostly due to MLB Draft preparation or injury rehabilitation.

Here is a look at who is where:

Cape Cod League

The league consists of 10 teams that play in towns along Cape Cod.

According to the team, Arkansas could have 12 players in this league, but right now only three are listed on active rosters.

In his second game with the Bourne Braves, Cayden Wallace hit a two-run home run earlier this week. He is hitting .250 with 2 hits and 2 runs scored in 3 games with the Braves, according to team stats.

Left-handed pitcher Zack Morris has given up just one hit in 2 2/3 innings pitched for the Orleans Firebirds. He has struck out two batters, has not walked a batter and is one of four pitchers without an earned run allowed.

Right hander Mark Adamiak is on the roster for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, and he's pitched in at least one game, retiring the side in order. The rest of his stat line is incomplete, according to the statistics kept by the league.

Robert Moore, Ryan Costeiu, Peyton Pallette, Elijah Trest, Caden Monke, Connor Noland, Brady Slavens, Patrick Wicklander and Jaxon Wiggins have all been selected to play in the league, but are not on active rosters.

Moore and Wiggins are going to start the summer on the USA Collegiate National Team in Cary, N.C. Unlike in previous years, this year's Team USA will not play international competition. Instead, it will play in 11 intrasquad matchups that start July 2 and run to July 15.

Most of the other Razorbacks who have not reported to the Cape are draft eligible. Pallette is rehabbing an elbow injury suffered in May.

California Collegiate League

Arkansas has 10 players in the California Collegiate League.

Pitcher Evan Gray and outfielder Zack Gregory are playing for the Conejo Oaks. Gregory is hitting .154 with 2 hits and 6 runs scored in 13 at-bats. Gregory has drawn 4 walks, been hit by a pitch twice and struck out 3 times to go along with 2 steals.

Gray struck out the only three batters he faced in his only appearance so far for the Oaks.

Pitcher Matthew Magre is on the roster for the Orange County Riptide. Magre has appeared in relief twice and has a 1.93 ERA in 4 2/3 innings. He has struck out three and walked one.

Pitcher Gabe Starks, catcher Zach Leach and infielder/outfielder Ethan Bates have found their summer home in Santa Barbara playing for the Foresters.

Leach has played in four games and is batting .182 in 11 at bats. Leach has 2 hits, including a home run. He is tied for second on the team with 5 RBI.

Starks has pitched 4 innings in 3 games, and has allowed 1 earned run. He has struck out eight batters, which is the highest for any non-starter on the team.

Bates is listed on the roster, but does not currently have any stats.

Pitchers Miller Pleimann and Heston Tole are playing for the San Luis Obispo Blues.

Pleimann has made two relief appearances for the Blues and has given up 2 hits, struck out 4 and walked 2 in 4 1/3 innings. He has not allowed a run.

Tole is working as a starter for the Blues and did not give up a run in four innings of work in his only appearance. He struck out six and did not allow an extra-base hit in that appearance.

Northwoods League

Outfielder Zac White has found his summer home in Duluth, Minn., playing for the Huskies of the Northwoods League. White is hitting .227 in 23 games. He's registered 7 RBI, 4 walks and 27 strikeouts.

White is joined by three players who were on the Razorbacks' roster in the past two years. Catcher Cason Tollett recently announced he is transferring to Arkansas State, pitcher Nate Wohlgemuth entered the transfer portal last month, and infielder Jesse Pierce transferred to a junior college following the 2020 season.

Florida Leagues

Charlie Welch has traveled to his home state of Florida to play his last season of collegiate summer baseball. He is playing for the Sanford River Rats of the Florida Collegiate Summer League.

Welch is hitting .125 in 8 at bats, has walked 4 times and struck out twice. In the three games that he has played, Welch has played first base.

Pitchers Nathan Rintz and Corey Spain are playing with the Delray Beach Lightning in the South Florida Collegiate Summer League.

Rintz has a 3.06 ERA in five appearances, all of them starts. His 14 2/3 innings lead his team, and he is also tied for the team lead with 21 strikeouts.

Spain has been used as a starter and a reliever. He has started three times and pitched in relief twice. He has a 4.76 ERA with 19 strikeouts and 7 walks.

Other leagues

Pitcher Evan Taylor is with the Frederick Keys of the MLB Draft League and pitcher Louis Stallone is in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

Neither have recorded stats for their respective teams.
