Jordan Walsh finds a lot to love about Arkansas hoops

One of the nation’s best 2022 players that Arkansas is high on is even higher on the Razorbacks after his official visit to Fayetteville.

Castaic (Calif.) Southern California Academy small forward Jordan Walsh (6-7, 190), a native of Desoto, Texas, took his Arkansas visit Thursday through Saturday.

Walsh, a four-star recruit and the No. 35 overall player in the 2022 class, per ESPN, raved about Coach Eric Musselman and his Razorbacks after finishing up his visit.

“It was great,” Walsh said before boarding his plane. “The energy from Coach Musselman and his staff is just crazy high energy. Being around those NBA guys just really left an impression on me.

“I am going to come back and see it again because I loved it. It was all great and everything looked so new. The arena, 20,000 people can get in there, and the fans are crazy, too. I am just so excited. It was all cool.”

Arkansas, Auburn, California, LSU, Georgia, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, TCU, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Prairie View A&M and Texas-Rio Grande Valley are among his offers.

While Walsh released a top 10 list earlier, that is now subject to change after deciding to play his senior season at a prep school.

“I am switching it up because there are a lot of new schools that have hit me up that I really like, so the list is going to change here pretty soon," he said. "But I will break it down soon.”

He is considering business and astrophysics as possible majors.

As a freshman, Walsh led Oak Cliff (Texas) Faith and Family to a 36-6 record and its first Class 4A state title.

He capped that title season with a buzzer-beating dunk in a 53-51 victory over Liberty Hill.

Walsh averaged 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists per game as a junior this season for a squad that finished 25-6.
