Results from Arkansas football's Pro Day

Arkansas quarterback Feleipe Franks is shown during a workout at the Walker Pavilion in Fayetteville.

Five former Arkansas football players participated in the Razorbacks’ Pro Day in Walker Pavilion on Wednesday. Here are the results of their workouts.

The heights and weights listed were taken during Pro Day.

QB Feleipe Franks

Height: 6-6 1/2

Weight: 234 pounds

Bench reps (225 pounds): N/A

Vertical jump: 32 1/2 inches

Broad jump: 9-9

40-yard dash: 4.55-4.65 seconds

Short shuttle: 4.35 seconds

L drill: 7.22 seconds

• There were quite a few NFL media members logged on for Franks’ Zoom on Wednesday. He answered a lot of questions about his time at Arkansas, transferring to the Razorbacks, leadership and more, including when he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2019. Franks has been working out in Carlsbad, Calif., and his quarterback coach is in Orange County. Footwork was a big point of emphasis for him. He enjoyed getting out to the West Coast, but also spoke about his excitement being back on campus and in Fayetteville. Health-wise, Franks feels “awesome,” and he said it was nice to take a breather from getting hit. He has talked to “pretty much” every NFL team and cited his time at the Senior Bowl as a plus in terms of being able to get in front of NFL minds during the pandemic.

RB Rakeem Boyd

Height: 5-11

Weight: 213 pounds

Bench reps (225 pounds): 6

Vertical jump: 31 1/2 inches

Broad jump: 8-2

40-yard dash: 4.58-4.70 seconds

Short shuttle: 4.50 seconds

L drill: 7.27 seconds

• Boyd said everything during Pro Day went well for him except the broad jump. He went through running back position drills, caught the ball out of the backfield and even in the slot. Arkansas coaches mentioned last fall that catching passes out of the backfield was one area of Boyd’s game that could stand improvement. Boyd talked about how he was “dinged up” the entire 2020 season. He added that his roommate contracted covid-19 and he had to miss games because of it. He still stays in touch with the Razorbacks’ staff, particularly running backs coach Jimmy Smith and offensive line coach Brad Davis. Boyd has been training in Frisco, Texas, and he focused on getting healthy. That is about the only concern NFL people had, he said. He is 100% now. He suffered a bone bruise against Mississippi State in Week 2, missed the Auburn game the following week and attempted to rush back despite not being fully ready.

DL Jonathan Marshall

Height: 6-3

Weight: 310 pounds

Bench reps (225 pounds): 36

Vertical jump: 32 inches

Broad jump: 9-6

40-yard dash: 4.75-4.90 seconds

Short shuttle: N/A

L drill: N/A

• Marshall told reporters following his workout that he has been training in Phoenix. He had a difficult time deciding whether or not to return to the Razorbacks in 2021. Marshall said he felt like it was time for him to move on and begin the next chapter in his career. Marshall added that he expected to put up between 35-40 reps on the bench press.

DL Xavier Kelly

Height: 6-4 1/2

Weight: 306 pounds

Bench reps (225 pounds): 27

Vertical jump: 27 inches

Broad jump: 8-3

40-yard dash: N/A

Short shuttle: N/A

L drill: N/A

• Kelly said he had some health issues coming in so he only participated in a few of the drills. Asked about his time at Arkansas, he noted he got exactly what he wanted in a school and program. Like Marshall, he just felt as if his college clock ran out and it was time to try to reach the next level. The Razorbacks’ defensive coaches sharpened him as an overall player, he said, and he improved his footwork and his play with his hands. Kelly is training in Colorado.

DB Jerry Jacobs

Height: 5-10

Weight: 208 pounds

Bench reps (225 pounds): 20

Vertical jump: 34 1/2 inches

Broad jump: 10-0

40-yard dash: 4.48-4.50 seconds

Short shuttle: 4.4 seconds

L drill: 7.0 seconds

• Jacobs, who opted out of the 2020 season early on, said he regrets leaving the program. Sam Pittman attempted to get Jacobs to stay on board last fall, but he admitted he did not want to listen to Pittman or anyone about his decision. His mind wasn’t in it. He left Fayetteville and trained in South Florida. Jacobs thought there might be some love lost when he returned for Pro Day, but Arkansas’ staff showed him love, he said. He added that he has told teams that he can be coachable and can learn from his mistakes.
