Arkansas coaches earn national honors

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas women’s Coach Lance Harter and assistant coach Chris Johnson earned national honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Wednesday.

Harter was named national indoor women’s coach of the year. Johnson, who coaches sprinters and hurdlers, shared the national assistant coach of the year award with Texas A&M’s Sean Brady.

Arkansas’ women’s team won the NCAA indoor title last weekend in Fayetteville.

It was the fourth national indoor award for Harter, who also won it in 2000, 2015 and 2019.
