Nairn advances before events postponed at NCAA prelims

Men's events at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field West Prelims were postponed Friday night because of lightning and heavy rain in College Station, Texas.
The men's 11 remaining running events will be held on Saturday, according to an announcement.
Before the weather postponement, University of Arkansas senior Laquan Nairn went 52-8 in the triple jump to take ninth and advance to the NCAA Championships held June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.
The top 12 finishers in each event advance to the NCAA Championships.
Women's events in the West Prelims are scheduled to be completed Saturday night.
