FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas climbed three places in the College Football Playoff rankings Monday.
The Razorbacks are ranked 22nd in the penultimate playoff poll following a 34-17 win over Missouri last Friday. Arkansas is the highest-ranked four-loss team in the poll and is ranked fourth among six SEC teams.
Georgia is ranked first, Alabama third, Ole Miss eighth, Kentucky 23rd and Texas A&M 25th this week.
The Razorbacks have been ranked by the playoff selection committee four consecutive weeks. As the SEC’s highest-ranked team outside of those eligible to play in the New Year’s Six bowl games, Arkansas is a candidate to play in the prestigious Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on New Year’s Day.
Bowl assignments will be finalized Sunday.
