FAYETTEVILLE — There will be a radio broadcast, but no TV or online streaming option for Arkansas’ exhibition basketball game against North Texas on Saturday.

The game, which tips off at 4 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, will be aired on at least a pair of radio stations — 103.7 KABZ-FM in Little Rock and 95.3 KERX-FM in Fort Smith. Other Razorback Sports Network radio affiliates might also opt to carry the game, but none had as of Wednesday.

The RSN broadcast will also be available for free on the Razorback Gameday App or behind a paywall on TuneIn.

Arkansas’ 77-74 exhibition victory over East Central (Okla.) last Sunday did not have any radio or TV feed available in Arkansas, but was available via an East Central radio broadcast in Ada, Okla. The Razorbacks rallied from a 14-point second half deficit to win the game over the Division II Tigers.

Kevin Trainor, a spokesman for the Razorbacks, said last week that preseason exhibitions are traditionally not televised, and that RSN traditionally only airs one exhibition game on the radio.

Saturday’s exhibition against North Texas is Arkansas’ final tuneup before the Razorbacks’ season opener against Mercer on Nov. 9. The Mean Green were an NCAA Tournament team a year ago and are playing in Fayetteville for the third consecutive season.

Arkansas defeated North Texas 66-43 in November 2019 and 69-54 last November. Their exhibition game Saturday will not count toward the teams' overall record.

Some proceeds from concession and merchandise sales Saturday will go toward the United Way of Northwest Arkansas' covid-19 relief work. Division I teams are allowed by the NCAA to scrimmage each other in the preseason if there is a charitable component to the game.
