• Running back Raheim Sanders had roughly 50-60 yards of the offense's 75 yards gained on the first series of the day. He also caught a pass for 30 yards from quarterback KJ Jefferson, and had a 15-yard run.

We were told Sanders’ production on the drive came against the second-team defense.

"Rocket’s that guy that can beat you in three ways: He can beat you running through you, running around you or making a nice move," Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon said. "He’s got great speed and he’s just the complete back."

• Jefferson capped the opening series with a five-yard touchdown run in which he wasn’t touched. He also connected with tight end Trey Knox for 10 yards, receiver Jadon Haselwood for 15 and receiver Warren Thompson for 25.

Jefferson added a 10-yard touchdown pass to receiver Matt Landers.

"I've been really proud of him," Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman said of Jefferson. "He's night and day from what he was confidence-wise a year ago at this time. We really didn't know what we had, to be honest with you, going into the Rice game last year.

"But we do this year."

• Quarterback Malik Hornsby had a 65-yard touchdown pass to receiver Ketron Jackson and an 18-yard score to tight end Nathan Bax in the red zone. He found receiver Quincey McAdoo for a 15-yard score and a 25-yard gain.

"He’s definitely going to travel and he’s on special teams now," Pittman said of McAdoo. "He’s certainly working his way up the depth chart. I think he’s a really good freshman."

• Quarterback Cade Fortin threw a side-arm touchdown pass to receiver Sam Mbake. Pittman labeled it the highlight of the day.

• Defensively, Pittman said there were no interceptions during the scrimmage. But the pass rush showed up.

LSU transfer Landon Jackson, who has been working with the second team at defensive end, had at least two sacks. Eric Thomas, operating at third-team end in portions of practices open to reporters, had a sack.

• Pittman mentioned Arkansas State transfer Terry Hampton as a player who has impressed in his pass rush ability at defensive tackle. He added that Georgia Tech transfer Jordan Domineck, a defensive end, made a number of plays and impressed with his speed.

Dorian Gerald flashed, as well, at defensive end, he said.

"Hampton is hard to block. You’ve got to get down there and root him out," Pittman said of Hampton. "He’s got a high motor. He's a guy that has done a really good job in there."

• Pittman was asked what kind of assets Domineck and Jackson can be at defensive end, and what allows them to be productive:

"I think they’re better than they were two weeks ago, both of them, if that makes sense," he said. "Neither of them played this spring, so you kind of are learning a little bit more about them. It’s like anything, until you know what you’re doing, you can’t really see a guy’s athletic ability because he’s always thinking all the time, and that slows him down.

"I think both of them are getting comfortable."

• We were told Cam Little and Jake Bates each missed one field goal but were otherwise solid. There were no kickoffs that went out of bounds, an improvement from the first scrimmage.

"Cam and Bates both kicked the ball well," Pittman said. "(We) punted the ball well, protected well. Going two weeks into it, I think we're in pretty good shape."
