Musselman and staff host dual-sport standout

2025 prospect Alec Blair with Eric Musselman and his assistant coaches.

Arkansas coach Eric Musselman and his coaching staff hosted class of 2025 point guard Alec Blair for an unofficial visit on Sunday.

Blair, 6-6, 180 pounds, of De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif., is also an outstanding baseball prospect with an offer from the Razorbacks. He participated in the prospect baseball camp on Sunday.

“Started the day out at baseball,” Blair said. “Had a blast talking to the coaches, touring the facilities, and playing, of course. Then was lucky enough to take a look at the basketball facilities and meet those coaches, as well.

"Really was an amazing experience and atmosphere here in Fayetteville. Love how everyone was so friendly and welcoming.”

He averaged 10.3 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists for the Spartans, and was an honorable mention on MaxPreps' Freshman All-America Team. Blair is drawing basketball interest from Arkansas, Florida, California and St. Mary’s.

“Coach Muss and the staff were extremely kind to my mom and me,” Blair said. “We pretty much just talked about Arkansas’ athletic success (baseball and basketball) and awesome fan base and made a few jokes in-between.”

He has other baseball offers from Oregon, TCU, LSU and Texas A&M, and is receiving interest from Alabama, Duke, Miami and Clemson. He played for 15-under Alpha Prime travel team this summer.

The Hogs recently added commitments from two Alpha Prime prospects, 2024 right-handed pitcher Wade Mountz and 2023 right-handed pitcher Gabe Gaeckle.

Blair took part in an Aggies baseball camp on Saturday before arriving in Arkansas later that evening.

Blair said the trip to Fayetteville helped the Razorbacks.

“I was already interested in Arkansas before I came here, but it was great meeting the coaches in person for the first time, seeing the facilities, and getting a feeling of the community,” said Blair, who's being recruited to play centerfield.
