Hogs to host Power 5 D-lineman

Arkansas assistant coach Deke Adams speaks to his players Wednesday, March 16, 2022, during practice in Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

Arkansas is expected to host a Power 5 defensive lineman for an official visit this weekend.

Pittsburgh defensive end transfer John Morgan III reported entering the transfer portal on Sunday, and is expected to arrive later Friday night in Fayetteville.

Morgan, 6-2, 265 pounds, recorded 19 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles this season in 12 games. He had 76 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 2 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles during his career as a Panther.

He has reportedly received offers from Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, Colorado and other schools since entering the transfer portal.

Morgan played in three games as a freshman in 2018, but he was able to preserve his redshirt status for the season. Because of covid-19, Morgan has the opportunity to play a sixth season.

Arkansas has the opportunity to sell the success of other transfers after arriving in Fayetteville.

Jordan Domineck, a Georgia Tech transfer, recorded 31 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in 2022. And Alabama transfer linebacker Drew Sanders has been named an All-American by five organizations after a stellar season with the Razorbacks.
