FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ Jaylin Williams picked up another honor from the Southeastern Conference on Monday.
The Razorbacks’ 6-10 sophomore forward was named SEC co-player of the week for his play in the team’s victories over Missouri and then-No. 16 Tennessee. He shared the award with Vanderbilt guard Scotty Pippen Jr.
Williams also earned SEC co-player of the week recognition on Jan. 24 following Arkansas’ wins over South Carolina and Texas A&M.
Against the Tigers and Volunteers, Williams averaged 13.0 points and 13.5 rebounds, recording his eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season. He also took four charges in the win over Tennessee last Saturday, bringing his season total to 41.
Williams grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against the Volunteers, and at Missouri he recorded four assists, his most in a game since Dec. 29.
“I should have had 20,” Williams said Saturday. “I feel like I left a couple (rebounds) off the board. I wish I would have done a little better, but I'm happy with my performance."
The Razorbacks, ranked No. 18 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25, return to play Tuesday at Florida. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
Arkansas closes the week against No. 6 Kentucky on Saturday in Bud Walton Arena.
