Razorback football attendance shows big increase in 2021

FAYETTEVILLE — Attendance for Arkansas home football games in 2021 increased by 28.1% over two years earlier, the most recent season without capacity restrictions. 

The Razorbacks reported 456,991 attendees at its seven home games in 2021, according to NCAA figures. Arkansas played six games at Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville and one game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. 

The Razorbacks’ accumulated attendance was 19th highest nationally and ninth highest in the SEC in 2021. Arkansas' attendance figures are based on tickets sold. 

For Fayetteville games against Rice, Texas, Georgia Southern, Auburn, Mississippi State and Missouri, the Razorbacks averaged an attendance of 69,069 per game. The highest attendance for a game in Fayetteville was 74,531 for Arkansas’ 40-21 victory over Texas on Sept. 11.

An attendance of 42,576 was announced for Arkansas’ game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Little Rock.

Reynolds Razorback Stadium has a listed capacity of 76,412 and War Memorial Stadium has a listed capacity of 54,120.

The Razorbacks also played six Fayetteville games and one Little Rock game in 2019 when a total attendance of 356,517 was reported to the NCAA. Arkansas finished that season with its second consecutive 2-10 overall, 0-8 SEC record. 

Capacity was capped at 16,500 for Arkansas’ five on-campus games during the 2020 season.

The Razorbacks finished the 2021 season with a 9-4 overall record and 4-4 record in the SEC, and defeated Penn State 24-10 in the Outback Bowl last week. 

The 2021 attendance figures were Arkansas’ highest since 2016, when 487,067 were counted for six games in Fayetteville and one game in Little Rock.
