FAYETTEVILLE — Former Kansas second baseman Tavian Josenberger announced Saturday he will transfer to Arkansas.

Josenberger (6-0, 185 pounds) has a career .296 batting average, .773 OPS, 3 home runs and 54 RBI. He started 103 games over two seasons at Kansas and was honorable mention All-Big 12 as a sophomore this year.

Kansas coach Ritch Prince announced his retirement in May following 20 seasons at the program.

“First off I’d like to thank the University of Kansas for the past 2 years,” Josenberger wrote on his Twitter page. “I will forever cherish the memories and friendships that I’ve made. I can’t express how grateful I am for my teammates and Kansas baseball. I’m a Jayhawk for life.

“With that being said I’m blessed and excited to announce my commitment to the University of Arkansas.”

Prep Baseball Report ranked Josenberger the No. 1 recruit in Missouri out of Park Hill High School in Kansas City. He was named to the All-Big 12 freshman team in 2021 when he batted .316 and tied program records with a 24-game hitting streak and a 6-hit game against Oklahoma.

Josenberger is one of three Division I players who have announced a transfer to Arkansas since the end of the regular season. The Razorbacks have also picked up commitments from Creighton outfielder Jared Wegner, Nebraska right-handed pitcher Koty Frank and 10 junior college players.
