Wilson, Little advance to final at World Championships

Shamier Little and Britton Wilson, who train together at the University of Arkansas and compete for the U.S., advanced to the 400-meter hurdles final at the World Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Little, a three-time NCAA champion at Texas A&M and 2015 World Championships silver medalist who has trained in Fayetteville since 2018 with Razorbacks assistant coach Chris Johnson, finished second in the second of three semifinals in 53.61 on Wednesday night to automatically advance to Friday night’s final.

Wilson, an Arkansas sophomore and NCAA champion this season, finished fourth in the same heat in 53.72 to advance on time.

Four of the eight entrants in the final will be American. Sydney McLaughlin had the top overall time in the semifinals at 52.17 and Dalilah Muhammad had the third-fastest time at 53.28.
