FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ men’s basketball team will host San Jose State in the upcoming season.

The Razorbacks and Spartans are scheduled to play on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, according to a game contract discovered through a Freedom of Information Act request. A game time has not been determined.

San Jose State finished last season 8-23 overall and 1-17 in Mountain West Conference games. The Spartans began the season 7-5.

Tim Miles, who spent 12 seasons at Nebraska and Colorado State, is entering his second season at San Jose State as head coach.

The team returns 6-6 guard Omari Moore, who in 2021-22 led the Spartans in scoring (13.2), total rebounds (165), assists (138), blocks (32) and steals (33). Moore withdrew from the 2022 NBA Draft on June 1.

The Spartans will bring back four other players who averaged at least 7.6 points per game. Among them is 6-9 forward Tibet Gorener, who made a team-high 54 three-pointers last season, and 7-0 center Ibrahima Diallo, who averaged a team-high 7.2 rebounds.

The Razorbacks have never played San Jose State in basketball.
