Hogs expected to host DL transfer

Arkansas is expected to host another defensive lineman for an official visit.

Morris Joseph, 6-2, 275 pounds, arrived in Fayetteville on Wednesday. He announced on Feb. 28 he was entering the NCAA transfer portal and transferring from Memphis.

He committed to Georgia Tech on March 24. 

Joseph started 9 of 10 games for the Tigers as a senior last season and had 38 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and 1 quarterback hurry. Joseph was named to Phil Steele’s All-AAC fourth team. 

As a junior, he made 10 starts in 11 games and recorded 52 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks and 2 quarterback hurries. Joseph played in 14 games in Memphis’ 12-2 AAC championship season as a sophomore.

He had 27 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.

Joseph signed with Texas-San Antonio out of West Orange-Stark High School in Orange, Texas, in 2017. He was named to the Dave Campbell Texas Football Top 300 list as a senior.

Joseph made 6 tackles and one-half sack as a freshman for the Roadrunners before leaving for Iowa Western Community College, where he had 35 tackles, 9 tackles for loss and 7 sacks.  

The Razorbacks received the commitment of former Arkansas State defensive tackle Terry Hampton on Sunday.
