FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ men’s basketball team will play in a multi-team event in San Diego during the 2024-25 season.

The Razorbacks are set to be one of four teams that participate in the San Diego Invitational at Jenny Craig Pavilion, with tentative game dates of Nov. 28-29, 2024. Arkansas' first game at the event will be Thanksgiving Day.

The program’s involvement in the tournament was discovered through a Freedom of Information Act request.

According to the agreement, Arkansas will play two games in the event. The remainder of the field has not been announced.

Southern Cal, Seton Hall, Iowa and Oklahoma will participate in the inaugural tournament next year, according to a report.

The Razorbacks’ involvement in the San Diego Invitational continues a recent trend of the program playing and scheduling quality early-season tournaments under Eric Musselman, who played basketball at and graduated from the University of San Diego.

Arkansas last season won the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City by defeating Kansas State and Cincinnati. The Razorbacks on Nov. 21-23 will play three games at the Maui Invitational.

And next season, Arkansas is scheduled to play in the 2023 Battle 4 Atlantis in The Bahamas. The Razorbacks will play three games in that event, which will also include North Carolina, Villanova, Michigan, Memphis, Texas Tech, Stanford and Northern Iowa.
