BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Arkansas and Kentucky are scheduled to play twice in the regular season in 2022-23.

It will mark the first time that has happened since 2014, when the Razorbacks swept the Wildcats in a pair of overtime games in Bud Walton Arena and Rupp Arena.

Kentucky coach John Calipari said Wednesday he was not for the programs meeting twice this season.

“I voted against that, too, by the way,” Calipari jokingly said at SEC Media Day when asked about the Arkansas-Kentucky series. “It’s good for both programs. It’s great for our league. And it’s changed.”

Asked if the Razorbacks and Wildcats playing multiple times each season is good for the SEC, Calipari said the league prefers a schedule rotation that complicates matters.

“Whatever they choose to do in our league, I’m fine with it,” he added.

Arkansas is scheduled to travel to Kentucky on Tuesday, Feb. 7 and close the regular season Saturday, March 4 against the Wildcats in Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks are 2-1 against Kentucky under Eric Musselman, and Calipari is 10-6 against Arkansas in his tenure with the Wildcats.
